These are a quick and easy way to make a bagel style bread that can also be made dairy free !
  • Preparation Time:   10 minutes plus 5 minutes kneading
  • Cooking Time:  20 – 25 minutes
  • Makes 10
 

Ingredients:

  • 250g plain flour
  • 250g ground almonds
  • 225g  non dairy yogurt – I used coconut flavoured yoghurt
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Topping
  • Everything But the Bagel seasoning topping
  • 1 whisked egg – for egg wash

Method

 
  1. Combine the plain flour, ground almonds, yogurt and salt in a bowl, mixing thoroughly.
  2. Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Roll the dough into a log and divide into 6 sections. Shape each into a bagel and poke a hole in the centre. ( I used a stalk part of a fork dusted in flour to make the hole. )
  4. Brush with egg wash for a glossy finish and sprinkle with seasoning.
  5. Bake at 190°C for 25 minutes.
  6. Enjoy with your favourite filling – cream cheese, peanut butter/ almond butter, smoked salmon -your choice !
